HS Roundup: BG, HB girls soccer win, as do Souhegan and HB field hockey

The winners keep on winning.

That was the case on Tuesday in local high school sports. For example, the Bishop Guertin and Hollis Brookline girls soccer teams stayed unbeaten. Here’s the Tuesday rundown:

GIRLS SOCCER

BISHOP GUERTIN 4, MERRIMACK 0

Kareena Sondhi netted two goals to the Cardinals (7-0-1) on their winning ways Tuesday afternoon. Sophia Hickey (assist) and Zoe Horton-Sousa also found the back of the net. Emerson Brown notched two assists and Kelsey Ackerman added an assist. BG hosts Windham and Merrimack (2-5) visits Hanover on Thursday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 7, PLYMOUTH 0

The Cavs improve to 6-0 after defeating Plymouth at home. Livi Ward led the offense with three goals. Marleigh Kreick (two goals, assist), Rosalie DeSantis (goal), Molly Reardon (goal, assist), DD Lussier (assist), Maddie Leonard (save), Ysa Ramas and Kai Swart all had strong games.

HB hosts Lebanon on Thursday.

MILFORD 1, BOW 1

Iris Lemaire scored on an assist from Olivia Hyde in the Spartans (3-2-2) tie with the Falcons. Delaney Barber made 10 saves. Milford hosts John Stark on Friday.

BOYS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1, PLYMOUTH 1

Chris Ledger scored a penalty kick midway through the second half to tie the game for HB (2-2-3). Ian Sinclair made three saves. HB hosts Souhegan on Saturday.

SOUHEGAN 3, LACONIA 0

The Sabers (3-3-2) shutout Laconia for their third win of the season. Mason Carson, Maddox Uehling and Trystan Zukovic all scored for Souhegan. Ryan Stone collected two assists, Evan Bernasconi had one and Finnegan Daly made three saves. Souhegan visits Hollis Brookline on Saturday.

FIELD HOCKEY

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, KINGSWOOD 0

Anna McGurk and Caroline Crawford each scored for the Tomahawks (5-2) in their win on Tuesday. Ashley Disco and Megan Eckman dished out the assists, while Maddie Barich made three saves for the shutout. HB hosts Laconia on Friday.

SOUHEGAN 6, MILFORD 0

The Sabers (8-0) win their eighth straight game and keep the Spartans (0-7-1) winless. Souhegan saw goals from Ella Duclos (two), Scarlett Locolst, Ella Russell, Ella Normandin and Avery Wybornery.

Eme Godin, Mariellah Dart and Abby Mayo each recorded an assist. Olivia Harrison grabbed her first varsity shutout.

Souhegan visits Oyster River on Friday and Milford hosts Lebanon on Thursday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

PINKERTON 3, MERRIMACK 0

The Tomahawks (2-8) fall to the Astros 16-25, 12-25, 18-25. Leah Monroe (11 kills, six digs), Avary Cruz (three blocks, six kills) and Bella Stiles (19 assists) played well in the loss. Merrimack visits Bishop Guertin on Wednesday.

SALEM 3, ALVIRNE 1

The Broncos lost to the Blue Devils by the scores of 25-17, 25-27, 16-25, 24-26. Playing well for the locals were Hailee Lane (10 kills), Cori Sevigny (five kills), Mena Lewis (28 assists, three aces) and Ava Ellis (three aces, four kills). Alvirne hosts Dover on September 29.

GOLF

SOUHEGAN 191, WINNACUNNET 200, ALVIRNE 205, MILFORD 259

The Sabers top the competition at Sagamore on Tuesday. Jacob Wilson shot a 36 and Sean Zerega had a 38 for Souhegan. Luke Norse shot a 39 or Alvirne and Milford’s Jack Bastarache ended his day with a 45.
