HS Roundup: Rodrigues paces South boys; Campbell edges HB

If soccer is your game, then Tuesday was your day, because there was plenty of it on the local high school level. Here’s a look:

BOYS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 4, WINNACUNNET 3

Damien Rodrigues tallied three goals in the Panthers win. Nirav Chenji (goal), Alex Lopez (assist) and Kevin Araujo (two assists) contributed to the offense. Orry Carr led the back line for the locals.

South hosts Portsmouth on Thursday.

CAMPBELL 2, HOLLIS BROOKLINE 1

The Cougars scored in the final two minutes to squeeze by the Cavs on the road. Matt Decarli scored both goals for Campbell with assists from James O’Brien and Tyler Gentile. Andrew Desmarais scored on an assist from Mark Smith with Ian Sinclair making five saves. Campbell hosts Bow and HB hosts Pembroke on Friday.

ALVIRNE 4, TIMBERLANE 2

Colin Lechner and Connor Tilton each found the back of the net twice in the Broncos win. Alvirne hosts Salem on Thursday.

MERRIMACK 3, KEENE 1

The Tomahawks travel their way home with a win against the Black Birds. Nate Johnson, Ryan Cirrilo and Spencer Robinson tallied goals. Huntre Joseph, Quinn Guiliano and Matt Hayes collected assists. Merrimack hosts Concord on Thursday.

COE-BROWN 2, SOUHEGAN 0

The Sabers got shutout on the road Tuesday afternoon. Finnegan Daly made three saves. Souhegan hosts Pelham on Friday.

WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 3, HOLY FAMILY 2

Tommaso Alboroghetti (two goals) drove in the game winning goal for the Warriors late in the match. Other contributing in the win were Josh Lord (assist), Arrion Murphy (goal), Korey Begley and Charles Mayes.

WLC visits Littleton on Friday.

OYSTER RIVER 3, MILFORD 0

The Spartans were shutout on the road by Oyster River. Braedon Orlen made eight saves and Matt Meyers played in his first varsity game as an incoming freshman. Milford visits Coe-Brown on Friday.

GIRLS SOCCER

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, CONCORD 0

The Cardinals get another shutout win, this time on the road. Kareena Sondhi, Zoe Horton-Sousa and Kelsey Ackerman were the goal scorers. Assists were registered by Horton-Sousa, Ackerman and Emerson Brown. Hadley Comeau, Maddi Long, Paige Gabriel, Shelby Goldstein and Riley Osborn played well on the back line to help Olivia Baker in net.

BG visits Manchester Memorial on Thursday.

PORTSMOUTH 4, NASHUA NORTH 2

The Titans hit the road for the first time this season and fall to the Clippers. Ali and Sarah Frye each scored for the locals. North hosts Windham on Thursday.

WINNACUNNET 3, NASHUA SOUTH 0

Corrine Rivera was solid in goal for the injury ravaged Panthers (0-2) but didn’t have much to show for it at Stellos Stadium, despite some good defensive help from Caroline Benzekri. Kendall Renzi and Ayvah Chrisman also played well.

Warriors goals were by Mia Lantaigne and two by Olive Needham. South is at Portsmouth on Thursday.

MILFORD 2, PELHAM 1

The Spartans played their first home game and defeated the Pythons. Camdyn Sayward and Kinsley Matsis scored one goal apiece. Sayward and Maggie Pelletier each added an assist. Milford hosts Coe-Brown on Friday.

SOUHEGAN 1, COE-BROWN 0

Gigi Depaula scored early in the first half on an assist by Emersynn Curran. Camille Brichto played well in net and Zofia Rosenfield anchored the back line. Souhegan hosts Pelham on Friday.

TIMBERLANE 2, ALVIRNE 1

The Broncos got clawed by the Owls on Tuesday. Reese Wannamaker scored and Abbie Kowalski had 17 saves in the loss. Alvirne visits Salem on Thursday.

GOLF

BISHOP GUERTIN 194, EXETER 205, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 247

The Cardinals take the win at Sky Meadow Country Club. Owen Murphy and Chase Brisebois each hit a 38, while Joe Herbert and Brody Sousa hit 39 apiece.
