t’s Week No. 3 of the local spring high school tournament season.

What’s next?

Well, we next play the survivor game. Of the 70-80 local high school teams that began playing their spring seasons in April, there are just six remaining.

The teams that are left are the Souhegan High School girls lacrosse team, Hollis Brookline boys volleyball – both play today – Bishop Guertin and Campbell boys lacrosse, Bishop Guertin softball and Souhegan baseball.

Here’s a look at the schedule

TODAY (2 games)

The main event is the No. 3 Sabers vs. No. 1 Portsmouth for the Division I girls lacrosse championship at 5 p.m.at Exeter

s Bill Ball Stadium. One of the 14-3 Sabers’ losses came against the unbeaten Clippers, 16-6 back on April 21. This is another chapter in the coaching rivalry between sisters JoJo Curro (Portsmouth) and McKinley Curro Sbordone. The Clippers eliminated Souhegan in the semis last year in a close game.

The Clippers probably weren’t too sad to see Souhegan win in OT in the semis vs. Pinkerton. The Astros gave them their closest game this year, 9-7 back on April 18 – right before their win over Souhegan.

In boys volleyball, all eyes will be on Hollis Brookline standout Ethan Norris as he tries to led the three-time defending champion Cavaliers past No. 2 Dover at 5 p.m. at Nashua North. The 15-2 Cavs lost to 16-1 Dover 3-0 just two weeks ago.

WEDNESDAY (3)

Clearly the busiest day of the week, as you can pick between Exeter, Concord, and Plymouth to see the local teams.

At 5 p.m. at Plymouth State’s Chase Field, the No. 7, 15-5 Bishop Guertin softball team will try to return to the finals for the second straight season. Standing in the way is No. 2 Pinkerton Astros, 17-3, and owners of a 5-2 win over BG just three weeks ago. Fun Fact: The Astros lost to Windham in their final regular season game, 6-1; BG just beat the Jags on Sunday 5-2 to reach the semis.

At the same time at Exeter’s Bill Ball Stadium will be a clash between two rivals, No. 2 Bishop Guertin facing No. 3 Bedford in the Division I boys lacrosse semis. Both teams are 14-5 but Guertin beat Bedford 17-11 back on May 1.

If they win, the Cards will reach an incredible 20th straight Division I title game. They’ve won four straight championships.

Finally, at 7 p.m. at Concord’s Memorial Field complex, a No. 1 seeded team that is looking to get back to the finals is the Souhegan baseball Sabers. They’re 17-2, but 16-0 vs. Division II competition, and will take on No. 5 Kingswood (14-4). One of those four losses was a tight one, 3-1 to Souhegan waaaay back on April 21.

THURSDAY (1)

It’ll be great sunny weather, how about a trip to the Lakes Region? That’s where the No. 6 Campbell Cougars are headed, set to play No. 2 Plymouth (13-2) in the Division III boys lacrosse semifinals at Laconia High School’s Bank of NH Stadium at 2 p.m. — a change from the original 5 p.m. start and 3 p.m. revision.

The 12-5 Cougars, who have tourney wins over Pelham and No. 3 Bow, beat the Bobcats on the road in a tight 6-5 game back on May 14.

There you go, these are the survivors. Let’s see how many games you can get to.
