HS Roundup: Souhegan football rolls; BG field hockey wins

It was a good Friday night for one area football team and not so good for another, while it was a busy Friday also on the field hockey, soccer and volleyball circuits.

We’re combining football and the other sports to give you a fab Friday roundup:

FOOTBALL

SOUHEGAN 37, HANOVER 0

Sabers QB Michael Fiengo was at it again, as he rushed for two TDs and threw for another with the visiting Sabers now 5-0 in Division II.

Ryland Raudelunas had two rushing TDs while Brayden Hickman had a TD reception. Kicker Owen Drake went 5 for 5 on PATs and had one recovered on-side kick.

Meanwhile, Souhegan’s varsity defense, before subs come in, has not allowed a single point all season. The Sabers are at rival Milford next Friday.

BEDFORD 47, MERRIMACK 0

The Bulldogs (5-0, 4-0 Division I) just keep on rolling, as the Tomahawks (2-2, 2-3 overall) couldn’t manage an offensive attack in the West Conference matchup.

“We didn’t move the ball at all,” ‘Hawks coach Kip Jackson said, his team now focused on hosting Windham next Friday.

BOYS SOCCER

WINDHAM 2, NASHUA SOUTH 1

The Panthers (4-4-2) fall on the road to the Jaguars Friday afternoon. South visits Dover on Tuesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, MILFORD 0

The Cavs (10-0) shutout the Spartans (3-4-3) to remain undefeated as Kiera King got the only goal the Cavs would need 20 minutes in. Marleigh Krieck and Sam Disco also scored whileMolly Reardon had an assist. Ellie Snoke led HB defensively.

Molly Miles made 11 saves for Milford. HB hosts Coe-Brown and Milford hosts Laconia on Tuesday.

FIELD HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 2, GOFFSTOWN 1 (OT)

Maddie Harrington knocked in the game winning goal in extra time for the Cardinals (9-1-1). Addison Daddonna scored on an assist from Harrington. Jordan Gaelbel, Gabby Gillette, Lola Dumont and Ayla Saeturn also played well for the locals. BG visits Manchester Memorial on Saturday.

NASHUA SOUTH 4, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 2

The Panthers (3-9) snap their three-game losing streak with a win on the road. Saige Davis and Wylie Hart scored two goals apiece. Keegan Dolan, Sofia Forte and Karina O’Donnell each had an assist. Isabelle Shiju played well in net securing 11 saves. South hosts Goffstown on Monday for their annual game in memory of Jenna Chiavelli. Donations will be collected for the Jenna Chiavelli Charitable Foundation.

KEENE 6, MERRIMACK 0

The Tomahawks drop to 4-8 after their shutout loss on the road. Merrimack hosts Manchester Memorial on Monday.

WINDHAM 2, NASHUA NORTH 0

The Titans (0-12) were defeated in another shutout contest as they remain winless. North hosts Timberlane on Monday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, SALEM 0

The Cardinals (8-2) sweep the Blue Devils 25-16, 25-23, 25-22. Akira Coravos, Brooke Partridge, Allison Marino and Veronica Gomez stood out on the court. BG hosts Pinkerton on Monday.

MERRIMACK 3, WINNACUNNET 0

The Tomahawks (9-3) defeat the Warriors 27-25, 25-23, 26-24. Leading the way for Merrimack were Amelia Walker (13 kills, two blocks), Rachel Flett (six kills), Leah Monroe (four kills), Noor Eldeib (24 assists, four kills) and Sofia Victal (10 digs).

Merrimack hosts Hollis Brookline on Monday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, ALVIRNE 0

The Cavs (8-2) keep the Broncos (0-11) winless by the scores of 25-17, 25-19, 25-12. Kate Berrigan (nine kills, five aces), Anika Carlson (14 kills), Lolly Adair (six kills, ace) and Maggie Noble (six kills) led the HB offense.

HB visits Merrimack and Alvirne visits Nashua South on Monday.
