It’s been a great season so far for the Alvirne and Souhegan High School football teams.
Friday night was no exception.
The Broncos rolled over Timberlane in the second half to improve to 3-0 while Souhegan trounced John Stark in Weare to do the same.
Here’s a look:
ALVIRNE 48, TIMBERLANE 20
The Broncos got five touchdowns from Mike Landmesser, who had 133 yards on the ground. Tight end Ryan Rochileau had seven catches for 105 yards.
It was a tight game, tied at 14 early and Alvirne led just 28-20 at the half, but the Broncos defense pitched a shutout in the second half.
Alvinre is at Windham next Friday night.
SOUHEGAN 45, JOHN STARK 14
The Saber offense just keeps rolling, as quarterback Michael Fiengo tossed three TD passes and rushed for two more. Brody Smith had two TD catches while Ryland Raudelunas had two TDs.
The varsity defense — before subs came in — held Stark scoreless and forced four turnovers. Grant Harris had a fumble recovery and interception.
Back to the offense, Owen Drake kicked two field goals. Souhegan hosts Manchester West next Friday.
