HS Roundup: BG field hockey tops South; Panthers volleyball wins

Don’t look now, but the Nashua South girls volleyball team is off to one of its best starts in recent seasons, as well as Merrimack.
Don’t look now, but the Hollis Brookline field hockey team and Milford girls volleyball team are still unbeaten.

BISHOP GUERTIN 6, NASHUA SOUTH 0
Maddie Harrington had two goals while Addison Daddona had a goal and an assist for BG, now 6-1. Sophie Bilodeau, Sarah Brunelle, and Jordan Gaebel scored the Cards’ other goals.
Carly Green had three assists on the night. Ciara Fallon played well in goal in the second half while Gabby Gillette and Sophia played well defensively.
For 1-6 South, Meury Navarette was busy in goal with 19 saves while Emily Richard had two defensive saves as well.
The Panthers will take on rival Nashua North on Monday in the Battle of the Bridge, while BG will be at Merrimack.
PINKERTON 9, NASHUA NORTH 0
The Titans’ struggles continue as they fell to 0-7, but they should be ready for archrival Nashua South on Monday in the Battle of the Bridge.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, HANOVER 0
The Cavs got goals from Brooke Bouchard and Addie Marchant, while Emily Tebbetts assisted on both goals.
Maddie Barich made three saves in goal to earn the shutout for HB, which visits Bow on Friday.
GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
NASHUA SOUTH 3, PORTSMOUTH 0
The Panthers (4-1) enjoyed a 26-24, 25-23, 25-16 close sweep, led by Molly Lecklider’s 12 kills and 10 digs, plus Mia Suljick’s 10 kills and 10 digs, as well as Maikaila Schubert’s 14 assists and three aces.
South hosts Londonderry tonight.
SALEM 3, NASHUA NORTH 1
The Titans fell to 3-3 despite good play from both middle attackers, Amaya Gordon and Haley Maurhoff.
North is at Winnacunnet on Friday.
MERRIMACK 3, LONDONDERRY 2
The Tomahawks improved to 5-1 with a 15-7 win in the fifth and deciding set after the teams split the first four, 21-25, 25-19, 25-22, 24-26.
Amelia Walker had 15 kills, three blocks, and five service aces to lead the way. Rachel Flett (12 kills, two aces), Leah Monroe (five kills, two blocks, three aces), Sadie Cote (11 blocks), Noor Eldeib (28 assists, two kills, four aces) and Jordyn McLaughlin (seven digs) also came up big.
Merrimack hosts Concord on Friday.
HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3, KEENE 0
The Cavs improved to 4-1 with a 25-15, 25-17, 25-16 sweep, led by Maggie Noble’s 11 kills and three aces.
Anika Carlson (seven kills, two aces), Angelina Dillberg (five aces, one kill) and Hershey Vedula (three aces) also were keys.
The Cavs are off until Monday when they host Dover.
MILFORD 3, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 0
The Spartans enjoyed a 25-13, 25-9, 26-24 sweep to remain unbeaten at 5-0.
Key contributors were Piper Greenhalgh (seven aces, 19 digs), Paige Davis (six aces), Beth Brooks (nine kills, two digs, an ace), Savannah Watson (four kills, four aces) and Loghan Varney (.667 hitting percentage).
Milford is at Oyster River on Friday.
