HS Roundup: Panther, Tomahawk boys soccer teams win

Who are the hottest local boys High school soccer teams? We can tell you two of them after Tuesday’s results: Merrimack and Nashua South. The Panthers topped Alvirne for their third straight win, while the Tomahawks are unbeaten after beating Nashua North at Stellos Stadium.

Here’s a look:

BOYS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 2, ALVIRNE 1

Kavin Araujo scored both goals for the Panthers (3-1) in their win over the Broncos (0-2-1). Marcell Perry had an assist with Noah Kapopolous and Ryan Jansen played well in the win. South visits Merrimack on September 17 and Alvirne visits Keene on Thursday.

MERRIMACK 4, NASHUA NORTH 2

Lucas Kabel scored a hat trick for the Tomahawks for the second straight game. Kaiden Martin scored the other goal for Merrimack, whle AdrianTalbot, Hunter Joseph, Danyil Kovryzhenko had assists.

North got goals by Amani Santos (assisted by Jordan Olliveria) and David Pereira (his third of the year), but it wasn’t enough.

Merrimack is at Londonderry on Friday while Nashua North fell to 1-3 and will host Dover on Thursday.

MANCHESTER CENTRAL 3, BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals fall to Central on the road on Tuesday. Beau Boughter made five saves. Alex Haight and Andrew Klyop played well in the loss. BG visits Winnacunet on Friday.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

BISHOP GUERTIN 3, CONCORD 0

The Cardinals (2-0) sweep Concord 25-19, 25-18, 25-21. Standing out for the locals were Brooke Partridge, Veronica Gomez and Akira Coravos. BG visits Nashua North on Thursday.
