HS Roundup: BG field hockey, HB, Milford soccer start strong

Friday was day for scoring when it came to some of the local high school sports teams as the season openers in field hockey and soccer continue.

Here’s the rundown:

FIELD HOCKEY

BISHOP GUERTIN 10, TIMBERLANE 0

Sarah Brunelle scored four goals to lead the Cardinals in a shutout win. Sophie Bilodeau (goal, assist), Carly Green (goal), Abby Lynn (goal), Emily Vincinguerra (goal, two assists), Sophia Harrington (goal), Addison Daddona (goal, assist) and Maddie Harrington (two assists) added to the offense. BG hosts Bedford on Wednesday.

WINNACUNNET 5, NASHUA SOUTH 1

The Panthers lost their home opener on the road to the Warriors. Wylie Hart scored off an assist from Keegan Dolan on a penalty corner. Meury Navarette had 13 saves in net. South hosts Timberlane on Wednesday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2, DERRYFIELD 0

The Cavs shuts down Derryfield in the season opener on Friday as Nyah Jernberg and Addison Marchant each found the back of the net.

Brooke Bouchard and Sabrina Hill recorded one assist apiece. HB visits Kennett on Tuesday.

GIRLS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 4, LEBANON 1

McKenna Maguire tallied three goals and an assist as the Cavs open the season with a win. Ysabel-Lei Ramas scored her first varsity goal with an assist from Maguire. Lily Bouchard and Sam Disco each had an assist.

HB hosts Keene on Tuesday.

MILFORD 4, PELHAM 2

The Spartans open the season with a home win against the Pythons. Leading the way for the locals were Lexi Bausha (two goals), Kianna Figuero (goal), Kinsley Matsis (goal, assist), Trinity Millner (assist) and Molly Miles (three saves). Milford visits Oyster River on Tuesday.
