Winning streaks, or continuing them, were the name of the game on Friday for local high school teams.

Hollis Brookline girls volleyball won its eighth straight, while the Cavs field hockey team captured its sixth in a row. Meanwhile, the Milford girls soccer team won its fifth straight.

Nashua North volleyball is starting a second streak, it hopes, as it won its second straight after Bishop Guertin recently ended the Titans’ eight game winning streak to start the season.

Some streaks came to an end, though, as the Alvirne girls soccer squad fell to Timberlane, snapping a five-gamer.
