HS Roundup: Panthers blank Memorial; WLC gets first win
If you were looking for a close high school game locally on Thursday, you were out of luck.
In fact, you would’ve been hard pressed to find a game as there were only two. Both the Nashua South baseball and Wilton-Lyndeborough softball teams were the only locals to play during a school vacation Thursday, and both won in routs.
Here’s the rundown:
BASEBALL
NASHUA SOUTH 12, MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 0
Nick Shaw tossed a complete game, four-strikeout shutout on the mound, while Albert De La Rosa homered as South snapped a two-game losing streak.
Also for the Panthers (5-2), Leo Kopiko went 2 for 3 with a triple while Hunter Ward added two hits.
South hosts Dover on Monday.
SOFTBALL
WILTON-LYNDEBOROUGH 21, FARMINGTON 6
The Warriors got their first win of the year, taking advantage of several walks and an inside-the-park homer by eighth grader Delaney Dowling.
Junior Ryleigh Smith didn’t allow an earned run, in the circle, as all of Farmington’s runs were unearned.
WLC hosts Franklin on Monday.
