HS Roundup: Big night for HB’s Colbert; Milford boys win in OT

A light night on the local high school slate certainly had its moments, including Hollis Brookline forward Cheyenne Colbert’s career night on the hardwood; Milford boys basketball’s big overtime win over Hanover, a Campbell girls hoop win and mixed results for Nashua North and South wrestling.

Here’s the rundown:

GIRLS BASKETBALL

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 52,

SOUHEGAN 40

The Sabers put up a great battle, leading 25-20 at the half, but the Cavaliers (11-4) got a super night from Cheyenne Colbert, who had 23 points and 21 rebounds – season highs for both.

Also for the Cavs, Elisabeth Stapelfeld had 13 points and seven rebounds on Senior Night, while Amanda Robbins and Maggie Crooks played well defensively.

The 4-12 Sabers, who host ConVal on Thursday, got 17 points from Kate Canavan, 10 by Sabra Biddle and seven by Caitlin Cooper.

HB is back at it tonight, hosting Timberlane.

CAMPBELL 49,

SOMERSWORTH 29

The visiting Cougars (4-7)jumped out to a quick lead and never looked back, paced by Alyvia Ahse’s 15 points and nine from Hailey Anderson.

BOYS BASKETBALL

MILFORD 53,

HANOVER 48 (OT)

The Spartans battled back from a seven-point halftime deficit to improve to 7-10 thanks to 15 points each from Bernard Glusac and Chuck Urda, plus 13 from Ryon Constable.

Milford led 27-25 after three and survived Hanover’s Kevin Pillsbury going off for 17 of his game-high 22 points in the final frame and a half.

The Spartans, looking to secure a Division II tourney spot, wrap up the regular season on Thursday at Hollis Brookline.

WRESTLING

NASHUA NORTH 42,

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 30

The Titans toughed one out in Manchester with pins by Jesse Rutstein t 120, Gavin Flynn at 132, Trevor Rivard at 138 and Toby Brown at 220.

SALEM 60,

NASHUA SOUTH 24

The Panthers were limited to wins, all by fall, by Anthony Fernandez at 132 Damien Perez at 152, Colby Vancellete at 220 and Jimmy Brown at 285.
