HS Roundup: Rain the winner as Broncos bow, South third
The pouring rain through much of Thursday was the big winner when it came to the local high school schedule.
Amazingly, the Alvirne girls soccer team got its game in with Bedford on the Bulldogs’ field turf. And even more eye-opening, the Nashua South golf team got its match hosted by Keene in as well.
Here’s a look:

The Broncos survived 80 minutes of soccer in a downpour, but couldn’t survive the 85th minute when the Bulldogs (4-0) scored in sudden death overtime on a play that began with a free kick from the left side.
The loss dropped the Broncos to 2-2, but didn’t take away the good effort by the Alvirne defense and goalkeeper Paige McKinley.

NASHUA SOUTH THIRD
Somehow, some way, the Panthers got a match in at The Shattuck, with Concord winning a tiebreaker with Keene (both at 214) and South edging out Londonderry for third, 244-248.
Kailey Pullen led south with a 44 while Stephen Robbe had a 45 in tough conditions. Robby Lizzie added a 50 to the cause.
