HS Roundup: Cards, Panthers get wins; Milford, HB stay unbeaten

Both the Nashua High School South and Bishop Guertin girls soccer teams kept up their end of the bargain with wins on Tuesday, setting up a great matchup between the two Thursday at Stellos Stadium.

Meanwhile don’t look now but the Hollis Brookline and Milford boys soccer teams are unbeaten after wins on Tuesday. Let’s see if they can stay that way to set up a collision course on Sept. 25 in Hollis.

But that’s way down the road. Here’s a look at Tuesday’s local action, and there was plenty of it:

GIRLS SOCCER

NASHUA SOUTH 3,

MANCHESTER CENTRAL 2

Addison Varley (two goals) scored the game winning goal with two minutes left in the contest. Soraya Ross added a goal and Jenna Hamelin had two assists. Abby Finchum collected eight saves with Kylie Dawe played well on defense. South (2-1-1) hosts Bishop Guertin on Thursday.

BISHOP GUERTIN 3,

WINNACUNNET 0

The Cardinals stayed unbeaten (3-0), surviving a scoreless first half and then breaking through just 10 seconds into the second half.

BG got goals by Renee Leblanc (plus an asssist), Martha Lord (an assist) and Hannah Lord, plus an assist by Brooke Paquette.

ALVIRNE 3,

GOFFSTOWN 0

The Broncos move to 2-1 after a shutout home win. After a scoreless first half, Alvirne opened the scoring with two goals from Paige Boudreau and one Hannah Sellingham. Bri Peters had two assists and Paige McKinley had 14 saves.

Alvirne visits Bedford on Thursday.

MERRIMACK 4,

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 1

The visiting Tomahawks even their record at 2-2 as Cara Sullivan, Caila Scully (one assist), Isabella Saxon and Kailey Dillon scored one goal each.

Alex Therrien and Kylie Flynn added assists, while Molly Perkins had six saves. Merrimack hosts Spaulding on Friday.

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2,

KENNETT 1

The Cavaliers record sits at 3-1 after their home win. Rachel Bracket scored the first goal at the 42 minute mark with Paige Magnuszewski scoring on a penalty kick seven minutes later.

HB visits ConVal on Friday.

MILFORD 1,

PELHAM 1

Alina St. George scored the lone goal for the Spartans in the draw. Milford visits Lebanon on Friday.

BOYS SOCCER

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 2,

KENNETT 1 (2OT)

John Kotelly scored the game winner in the third minute of double overtime on an assist from Ben Dudoe. Noah Sinlcair scored the first goal with an assist from Andrew Eckman.

Owen Ford made four saves in net for HB(4-0), which hosts ConVal on Friday.

MANCHESTER MEMORIAL 4,

MERRIMACK 0

The Tomahawks (2-2) lose their second straight game via a shutout. Drew Flanders made four saves and Matt Schmidt made seven saves in net.

Merrimack visits Spaulding on Thursday.

MILFORD 5,

PELHAM 0

The Spartans improve to 4-0 after a decisive win on Tuesday. Goran Skoric, Ryon Constable, Conor Sullivan, Colin Gregg (two assists) and Maddox Maguire all found the back of the net.

Zach Naun also played well in the back for the locals. Milford has outscored its opponents 22-0 and will host Lebanon on Thursday.

WINNACUNNET 2,

BISHOP GUERTIN 0

The Cardinals drop to 1-2 after a tough road loss to the Warriors. Aiden Laurendeau made nine saves between the pipes.

BG hosts Nashua South on Thursday at Stellos Stadium.

CONVAL 1,

SOUHEGAN 0

The Sabers (2-2) struggled to connect on the offensive side resulting in a home loss. Goalie Ryan Lockitt secured four saves.

Souhegan hosts Bow on Friday.

FIELD HOCKEY

DOVER 3,

NASHUA NORTH 0

The Titans (0-3) remain winless with another shutout loss. Maddie Goulet made eight saves and Madlyn Phillips made an impact on the defensive end.

North hosts Bishop Guertin today.

SOUHEGAN 5,

PELHAM 0

Ella Barrett nets two goals in Souhegan’s (2-1) shutout win.

Annika Madeja, Tatum Zampella and Karina Kruchynska scored on apiece.

Goalie Annie Raduazzo stopped three shots for the Sabers who visit Kingswood on Friday .

KEENE 2,

NASHUA SOUTH 1

The Panthers (0-1-2) come short once again trying to get their first win. South’s Karina O’Donnell scored first, four minutes in on a cross ball from Kaitlyn West.

Keene tied it up before halftime and then scored again with six minutes left to get the win, despite 14 saves in goal from Kaitlyn Tello.

South faces Bedford today at Stellos.

GIRLS VOLLEYBALL

HOLLIS BROOKLINE 3,

SALEM 0

The Cavaliers (2-0) sweep the Blue Devils by the scores of 25-13, 25-10, 26-24. Meaghan Coutu (five aces) and Sophia Jordan anchored the offense with 13 kills and 25 assists respectively.

Lydia Daskalos (seven aces, two kills one block) and Cheyenne Colbert (seven kills, two blocks, one ace) added to the offensive unit.

HB hosts Nashua South on Friday.

GOLF

GOFFSTOWN 213,

ALVIRNE 222,

MILFORD 245

The Broncos and the Spartans were both outplayed by Goffstown at Green Meadow. Alvirne’s Noah LeClair was a medalist shooting a 33. Ashton Meuse and Alex Blais added to the Broncos win over Milford.

Milford’s top scorers were Mason Talbot (41), Landon Pierce (48), Brady Hanson (50) and Devon O’Brien (50).
