HS Roundup: Nashua divers excel; BG gets hockey wins

Nashua is the place to be for top Division I high school divers this year.
Nashua High School South’s Sue Mai White repeated as the Divison I girls dive champion late Friday, while Nashua North’s Trevor Ryan was awarded the Division I boys title with a score of 114.90.
White totaled 176.40, ahead of Bishop Guertin’s Moira Thompson (139.65), and Alvirne’s Malia Downey (108.00), and was sixth overall in the combined Divison I-II results, as Hanover’s Sophia May was the overall winner at 213.30.
Ryan was seventh overall in the combined Divison I-II competiton, as Dillon P. O’Connor of St. Thomas was first overall at 316.15.
The Divison I swimming championships were held Saturday into the evening at the Salem Workout Club, but results weren’t immediately available due to the separate sessions. However, the NHIAA tweeted that BG’s Jack Januario set a state record with a time of 4:32.99 in the 500 freestyle.
Meanwhile, it was a full day of action on the ice and the hardwood, including a dramatic late win for BG boys hockey and the Guertin girls remained unbeaten:

The Cards moved to 9-2 thanks to Brian Jenkins and John Mantone combining on not one but two third period goals after trailing 2-1.
Mantone was the facilitator, feeding Jenkins twice. The first goal tied things at 9:38 of the final period and the game-winner came two minutes later at 11:29. Quinn Cepiel also assisted on the final goal.
Hanover’s John Hill scored twice for the Marauders, including the go-ahead goal at 8:43. Derek Amaral also scored for BG, assisted by Mike Kiely.
John Casey had 14 saves in net for BG, which winds up the regular season at Exeter on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
KEENE 6,
MERRIMACK 4
Eliot Medlock had two goals but the Tomahawks fell short as Keene’s Joel Beard recorded a hat trick at West Side Arena.
Brayden Guagliumi and Evan Roy had a goal and an assist each for the ‘Hawks, who fell to 5-4 and face the Blackbirds again on Monday, this time at Keene.

Lindsay Hult and Kathryn Simpson while Julie McLaughlin added a goal and an assist to give her her 100th regular season career point as just a junior as the visiting Cards moved to 12-0. They outshot Exeter 45-5 as Sarah King picked up the shutout in goal.
Guertin finishes the regular season with a showdown with perrenial power Hanover on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. at Hudson’s Cyclones Arena.

Once again Robby Haytayan led the Cavs with 18 points while Adam Razzaboni added 14, Matt Dias 15, and Blake Bergerson 11.
HB winds up the regular season Thursday at Souhegan.

The Cavs’ Elisabeth Stapelfeld led all scorers with 24 points along with 19 rebounds. Brooke Allanach had nine points, Maggie Crooks added seven and McKenna Dunn had six.
Emily Donovan had 17 pts for Conval.
