Tomahawks win hockey thriller; Sabers get first win
It was a split for local hockey teams on light Monday night, while the Souhegan girls basketball team picked up its first regular season win:

MERRIMACK 6,
WINNACUNNET 5 (OT)
Dylan Sadowski scored the game-winner in overtime at Manchester’s West Side Arena as the Tomahawks evened their record at 1-1.
Merrimack’ Evan Roy sent the game into overtime with a goal with 12 seconds left in the third period. The Tomahawks also got two goals and an assist from Zach Stimeling, and a goal each by Owen Miner, and Dom Carozza. Other assists went to Roy, Jason De Beaucourt and Andrew Frothingham. Ben Hardy had 24 stops in net for Merrimack, which visits Somersworth/Coe-Brown Wednesday at 7 p.m.
GOFFSTOWN 7,
NASHUA NORTH-SOUHEGAN 1
The 1-2-1 visiting Saber-Titans outsthot the 5-1 Grizzlies 35-16 but had only a goal by Peter Lennox to show for it.
North-Souhegan looks to get back on the winning track vs.Windham on Wednesday at the Salem Icenter at 5:40 p.m.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
SOUHEGAN 56, CONVAL 43
Hunter Stonebraker had 13 points and 10 rebounds, while Susie Wason added 13 points as the Sabers got their first win of the regular season (1-3).
Katie Canavan and Halle VanBallegooven added nine points apiece for Souhegan, which visits John Stark on Friday. ConVal fell to 2-2.
