Spaulding pitcher Josh Gagne was the story of the game, as he threw 112 pitches over nine innings, 74 of which were strikes. Gagne gave up five hits and struck out eight batters. Andrew Barnes picked up the win in the 10th inning in relief. The winning run came as the result of a two base error, then a wild pitch thrown by Robbie Flohr, who threw five innings of hitless relief. Tyler Brown was Alvirne’s starter and went five innings, only allowing two hits. On offense, Jason Hudson had two hits for the Broncos and Flohr added another two hits. With the loss Alvirne now falls to 0-3 on the season.
