Telegraph Winter All Stars: Skiing, gymnastics, bowling MVPs
The Telegraph’s Winter All Stars are now complete with the release of Skiers of the Year Evan Cooke of Hollis Brookline and Bishop Guertin’s Brianna Berge, Bowler of the Year Zack Amodio of Merrimack and Gymnast of the Year Carolyn Nichols of Bishop Guertin.
Boys Skier of the Year: Evan Cooke, jr., Hollis Brookline
Cooke led the local boys contingent qualifying for New Hampshire’s Eastern High School Championships Select Alpine Team with a sixth-place qualifying total at Alpine Meet of Champions. Cooke finished fourth overall on the boys side of things in the slalom and 30th in giant slalom.

Girls Skier of the Year: Brianna Berge, jr., Bishop Guertin
Berge led the local girls contingent with and eighth place Eastern High School Championships qualifying total at Alpine Meet of Champions. At MOCs, Berge was seventh in slalom and 15th in giant slalom.

Gymnast of the Year: Carolyn Nichols, fr., Bishop Guertin
Nichols used an eighth-place finish on the floor, 10th on bars, 12th on beam and 16th on vault to finish with a 32.600 for eighth in All-Around, the top finish for a Greater Nashua athlete at the NHIAA State Meet.

Bowler of the Year: Zack Amodio, fr., Merrimack
In three strings, Amodio posted a 642 to qualify for the Championship Flight in the NHIAA Individual Tournament. Seeded No. 1 heading into the Stepladder Final, due to his state-best 215.20 in Championship Flight, the Tomahawks freshman came up just short of a title in his first varsity campaign.
