At a crossroads

By Hon. Melanie Levesque - Brookline | Oct 15, 2022

Our current Senator, Kevin Avard, has sponsored a number of yellow signs around the district that spread lies about my vote on Family Medical Leave. Instead of running on policy that demonstrates his vision for a better New Hampshire, my opponent has resorted to lies in order to trick voters into thinking he is a better choice. That typically happens when a candidate has no real policy to run on. In 2020 these same tactics brought us an extreme Republican majority that put into law an abortion ban, taxpayer funded savings accounts (vouchers, which will increase property taxes), and divisive language that allows parents to lodge complaints and sue our teachers.

I’m proud of my record as State Senator – so much so that I’ve launched a campaign to solve the real issues that we face every day in District 12 and across the state. I have always been a fierce proponent of affordable healthcare, voting rights, and quality education. I encourage voters to research my stance on key issues or even contact me directly with any clarifying questions they might have.

It’s time to come together and recognize that our democracy is at a crossroads. We can either choose to progress or regress: not both. But while we make up our minds, it is critical that we get nothing but the truth about those vying to lead us. There is too much at stake in this upcoming election to be fooled by bad actors.
