Fair and transparent redistricting

By Pat and Ray Waterman - Merrimack | Jun 12, 2021

We wish to thank all the voters of Merrimack who participated in our democracy by voting in the April 13 town elections sending a message to our state Legislators that we want our voting map redistricting process to be fair, nonpartisan and transparent.

Warrant Article # 6 passed in an overwhelming vote (3,282 for and 1,088 against) demonstrating that Merrimack wants fairness and transparency in the process. As of this writing, 66 other New Hampshire towns have passed a similar warrant article. The voters of this state have sent a clear and resounding mandate to our state legislators.

To Merrimack voters – your message has been conveyed by our town clerk to our state representatives and we have informed Rep. Barbara Griffin, chair of the Special Committee on Redistricting.

We are encouraged to know that our community is steadfast in its pursuit of a fair, nonpartisan and transparent redistricting process.
