Sununu is no moderate; vote Feltes

By Mary Wilke - Concord | Sep 19, 2020

To those who voted in the Democratic primary but “wrote in” Chris Sununu’s name for governor, please reconsider. He’s not the moderate he’s sometimes thought to be.

Sununu has failed to take meaningful action to address the climate crisis or even to acknowledge it as a priority. He supported “right to work” legislation, promoted a school voucher program that would have taken $100M out of our public schools, and signed a voter suppression bill that was struck down by a court because it discriminated against young people, low income people, and Democrats.

Do you think we should increase our reliance on solar energy? Raise the minimum wage above $7.25? End gerrymandering? Adopt a paid family and medical leave plan? Allow school districts to prevent unauthorized people from carrying firearms into schools? In the past two years, these bills and 73 more were vetoed by Sununu, who consistently refused to negotiate with legislators and who holds the veto record among NH governors, by far.

Sununu, who calls himself “a Trump guy, through and through”, is no moderate, and “leading” by veto is not leadership.

If you want a governor who will lead by action, not by obstruction, vote for Dan Feltes. As Senate Majority Leader, he worked diligently, often across the aisle, on creating jobs, protecting the environment, ensuring access to affordable health care, strengthening our public schools, promoting fair and inclusive elections, and so much more. Learn about him at danfeltesnh.com, and then please vote for Dan Feltes for Governor.
