Get out and vote from the bottom to the top
I’ve been knocking doors in Ward 6 as a candidate for state representative. Contacting all my possible constituents, Republicans included.
I’m a proud Democrat. I was on Sen. Bernie Sanders’ New Hampshire State Steering Committee and was elected as a pledged Sanders delegate to the convention. I put significant amount of time and energy into getting him elected. It didn’t pan out.
I listen to the people who answer my knock. Then I say: "Please vote from the bottom of the ballot to the top." It is harder to tell some folks to "Vote True, Vote Blue" – I respect our philosophical differences. I mention my friend Kevin Scully to them, asking for their other vote. I’m principled, have integrity and want a state our kids will thrive in. I’m fact-based.
Trump’s policy stances of trickle-down economics never worked. He’ll enrich his fellow plutocrats. His policies will hurt workers. His ignorance of science will kill the world I want our grandchildren to be able to hunt, hike and fish in. His Supreme Court choices will bring us back to the Dark Ages. Trump’s rhetoric of hate and fear shows him as a violent threat to democracy. We cannot have someone who carries himself like a spoiled child with his finger on the atomic button. Trump cannot be president.
Most people agree, in both parties.
This is a tough year. Please get out and vote – bottom up.
