Mangipudi deserves a full term in the House

By Staff | Oct 31, 2014

Ward 8 State Representative Latha Mangipudi needs to keep representing Nashua. Being a speech language pathologist working with children and adults, she understands the need for affordable health care and good coverage. She’ll fight to maintain such services, along with Medicaid expansion and Social Security.

Mangipudi believes in providing for and improving our school systems and making college affordable. She believes in equal pay and a fighting chance for everyone who wants to work to accomplish their dreams.

In 2013, her GOP opponent, Peter Silva, took a stab at her ethnicity and made no apologies for his comments. Latha took the high road and did not engage with him. In fact, her platform has been to encourage and mainstream new ethnic minorities into the community. To this end, she has worked with the Chamber of Commerce in Nashua to organize events to facilitate dialogue with the new Indian American citizens.

In her first year as a state representative, she participated in the Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee and supported passage of a bill that recognizes domestic violence as a crime. With the track record that she has in her short time as a state representative, I see great promise in her for the future and strongly support her re-election.
