Jason Travis Lewis, 40, of 179 Oak Hill Road, Weare

WEARE — Jason Travis Lewis, a 40-year-old Oak Hill Road resident arrested and charged in June 2021 with 18 counts of various child sexual-assault related offenses, then released on personal recognizance bail “over the state’s objection,” has been located and jailed pending a Superior Court appearance scheduled for today.

But due to the “unyielding and dedicated efforts of the Weare Police Department,” authorities said in a statement, the number of charges Lewis now faces has ballooned from the original 18 counts to an astounding 105 charges in all, according to the statement.

The statement cites the work of Weare police, who expressed gratitude to other agencies including Goffstown police, members of the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s office, the New Hampshire Child Advocacy Center, Division of Children, Youth and Families, the office of the Hillsborough County Attorney and the New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN) for their assistance in “exploring and developing additional leads” over the past year and a half.

It was on June 11, 2021, that Weare police received information concerning a juvenile victim of alleged sexual assault, according to their statement.

They launched “a complex investigation,” which resulted in the arrest of Lewis. He was charged with the following:

* Four counts, incest

* Five counts, aggravated felonious sexual assault

* Two counts, contributing to the delinquency of a minor

* One count, kidnapping/extortion

* One count, criminal restraint

* One count, pattern sexual assault

* One count, endangering the welfare of a child.

The new set of charges filed against Lewis follow.

* Thirty-six counts, possession of child pornography

* Twenty-nine counts, manufacture of child abuse images

* Fourteen counts, felonious sexual assault

* Eight counts, aggravated felonious sexual assault

* Two counts, incest.

Today’s arraignment is scheduled to take place at Hillsborough County Superior Court North in Manchester.
