Apparently unhappy with being arrested by Hollis police, Manchester man allegedly fights with officers, spits on them, urinates in cruiser

Nicholas Paul Knee, 40, of Manchester

HOLLIS — Asked by Manchester authorities to see if they could check a Hollis bed-and-breakfast for a man wanted in their city, the two Hollis officers who responded succeeded in locating the suspect at the B&B, the name and address of which police didn’t provide.

But shortly after they informed the man, later identified as Nicholas Paul Knee, 40, of Manchester, that he was under arrest due to a warrant out for his arrest in Manchester, Knee allegedly “became extremely combative, both physically and verbally,” according to Hollis police.

Knee, who was wanted in connection with a recent domestic violence incident in Manchester, allegedly flew into a rage, assaulting one of the two Hollis officers who were in the process of transporting Knee to police headquarters for booking on the charge of fugitive from justice.

En route, however, Knee allegedly urinated in the cruiser, and upon arrival at the station, his alleged behavior “only escalated” as officers tried to get him into the booking area.

They would soon discover that Knee also allegedly urinated in his holding cell, which was about the time two Manchester officers arrived to take custody of Knee and return him to Manchester to face the domestic violence allegations.

Allegedly undeterred by the presence of four officers, Knee “remained uncooperative and combative, to include spitting on all four officers now attempting to control him,” police said.

When Knee allegedly refused to cooperate with the booking process, police said, it was decided to transport him to Valley Street jail and hold him overnight pending arraignment on the Hollis charges.

Those include five counts of simple assault, two counts of criminal mischief and one count of criminal threatening, all Class A misdemeanors, and one count of operating after suspension, a violation-level offense.

Knee was scheduled for arraignment Tuesday morning in Nashua district court. The outcome of the hearing wasn’t immediately available.
