WEARE — Authorities have identified the individual killed when he fell off a cliff near the Everett Dam at Clough State Park Sunday afternoon as Colbee Cammarata-Hodgman, an 18-year-old resident of Nashua.

State Fish & Game conservation officer Sgt. Kevin Bronson said in a statement that Cammarata-Hodgman had been climbing one of a series of cliffs outside the designated climbing area when he fell, prompting calls to Weare fire and police departments shortly after 3 p.m.

Despite life-saving measures attempted by first-arriving firefighters and police officers, Cammarata-Hodgman succumbed to the injuries sustained in the fall, Bronson said.

He added that Cammarata-Hodgman was not equipped with climbing gear or safety equipment.

Due to the nature of the terrain around the cliffs, Bronson said conservation officers skilled in high-angle rope rescue techniques were called in, and once on scene developed a safe extraction plan.

With the assistance of Weare police and fire personnel, the officers succeeded in extracting the teen’s body without incident.

Although Bronson didn’t mention whether an autopsy is planned, it’s likely one has been, or will be, performed.

In the meantime, the incident remains under investigation.
