One boy killed, another seriously injured in Hudson dirt bike crash
HUDSON — A collision on Wason Road Sunday noontime involving a Kawasaki dirt bike and a Ford Ranger pickup truck claimed the life of the dirk bike operator and caused serious injuries to the passenger, police said.
The driver and lone occupant of the Ranger, described only as a female, was uninjured, police added.
The names and ages of the boys on the dirt bike weren’t released by police, but they are believed to be in their teens.
The operator was pronounced deceased at the scene. The passenger was evaluated at the scene by Hudson medical personnel, who transported him to Elliot Hospital in Manchester, where a trauma alert was reportedly activated.
He was later transferred from the Elliot to a Boston area hospital, police said.
Neither boy was wearing a helmet, police said, adding that the investigation is ongoing.
Police, firefighters and medical personnel were called at about 12:15 p.m. to the area of 45 Wason Road for a report of a crash with serious injury.
Police closed Wason Road between Empire Circle and Cin-Fre Drive for about an hour to allow investigators to conduct an on-scene investigation.
