Former CNN anchor Bernard Shaw has died
ATLANTA — CNN is reporting the death of Bernard Shaw, the cable network’s first anchor who also covered major news stories such as the student revolt in Tiananmen Square in May 1989, the First Gulf war live from Baghdad in 1991, and the 2000 presidential election.
The award-winning journalist was 82. He died yesterday of pneumonia unrelated to COVID-19, according to his family.
Bernard Shaw died Wednesday of pneumonia unrelated to Covid-19, Shaw’s family announced in a statement Thursday. Shaw was 82.
