Melvin James Campbell IV, age 21, of 10 McLaren Avenue, Nashua

CONCORD — Members of the U.S. Marshals Service N.H. Joint Fugitive Task Force have tracked down and arrested 21-year-old Melvin James Campbell IV, for whom police have been searching for several months in connection with an armed home invasion at a Nashua residence.

Campbell, whose last known address is 10 McLaren Ave., is in the custody of Worcester police, where he is being held on a fugitive from justice charge pending his return to Nashua to face the Class A felony charge of burglary.

“The US Marshals New Hampshire Joint Fugitive Task Force worked closely with the Nashua Police Department and the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Massachusetts to follow up on tips and to develop leads to track down Mr. Campbell,” spokesman Jeffrey White said in a statement issued following Campbell’s arrest.

“Based on these efforts, members of the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force from both NH and Massachusetts were able to locate Mr. Campbell inside a business in downtown Worcester Tuesday morning, where he was arrested without incident.”

Campbell was one of four individuals accused of participating in the armed home invasion earlier this year. Two of them were arrested shortly after the incident. Whether the third suspect has been apprehended isn’t known.

As for Tuesday’s arrest, White said it was accomplished “by the cooperative efforts of the member agencies that comprise the US Marshals Fugitive Task Force, including the Nashua and Worcester Police Departments, the Massachusetts State Police, the Strafford and Worcester county Sheriff’s Departments, along with deputy US Marshals.”
