Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua named Champion in Action
NASHUA – Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, a nonprofit organization enabling young people to reach their potential as productive, caring and responsible citizens, has been named a 2022 Champion in Action® in the category of Innovation & Transformation. The award, announced jointly by Citizens and New Hampshire Union Leader, includes $35,000 in unrestricted funding, as well as promotional and volunteer support for the organization’s outstanding work.
“The Boys and Girls Club of Greater Nashua continues to raise the bar with innovative youth development programs that are relevant and responsive to the needs of young people in our community,” said Joe Carelli, President, Citizens, New Hampshire. “Through programs like Project Succeed and Got Skills, the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua is helping close the opportunity gap and developing future leaders.”
Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, Inc. helps children build ongoing relationships with caring, adult professionals through life-enhancing programs and character development experiences. Through creative programming and community partnerships the Club provides access to enriching activities, academic help, therapeutic programming, nutritious food and more. Daily program offerings include hot meals and snacks, transportation, tutoring, athletics, job skills training and social emotional wellness counseling.

The Champions in Action program, now in its 20th year, has awarded more than $10 million in contributions and promotional support to 367 nonprofits across the bank’s footprint. In New Hampshire, 58 nonprofits have been honored, receiving more than $1.6 million.
As a Champion in Action, Boys & Girls Club of Greater Nashua, Inc. will receive:
A $35,000 contribution in unrestricted funds from Citizens
