Gateways, born as Area Agency Region VI, celebrates 40th anniversary with virtual program, auctions, awards

By Dean Shalhoup - Senior Staff Reporter | Oct 6, 2021

NASHUA — The historically well-attended Gateways Community Services annual auction and awards program will take place virtually again this year.

Scheduled for Friday, Oct. 15, beginning at 7 p.m., this year’s program includes a tribute to the agency’s 40th anniversary, a milestone that has seen Gateways grow from a tiny agency with a $50,000 annual budget called Area Agency Region VI to the $65 million nonprofit that today serves more than 3,000 individuals ranging from infants to senior citizens.

To register to view the event virtually, go to www.gatewayscs.org, scroll down to “Gateways 40th anniversary celebration” and click on “register now” for registration options, and to view and bid on auction items.

There is no charge to register and take part virtually in the program, which is estimated to run about an hour.

There will be both a silent and live auction, and participants will hear from members of Gateways staff and its board of directors.

The silent auction is now underway, and will continue up to the program.

A full story about Gateways, including its history and a timeline of events over its 40 years, will appear in The Sunday Telegraph.
