NASHUA — Detectives working the homicide case of 35-year-old Nashua resident Jared Daly continue to analyze the scene and conduct interviews with people who may be able to offer some information to help the investigation along.

Authorities said Daly was found deceased last week in an apartment at 5 Hanover St., a large, two-family residence at the northern end of Hanover Street near West Hollis St.

Police officers answering a welfare check request for the address made their way inside, where they found Daly’s body in a living room.

Chief Medical Examiner Jennie Duval, who performed an autopsy the next day, ruled the manner of Daly’s death a homicide, and the cause of death as “blunt impact injuries to the head.”

Kate Giaquinto, director of communications for the office of Attorney General John Formella, said Monday that Nashua police and representatives of Formella’s office “continue to actively investigate the events leading up to Mr. Daly’s death.”

While authorities aren’t commenting on whether they have a suspect in mind or an arrest may be forthcoming, Giaquinto said officials have “no information leading us to believe there is any specific threat to the public.

“At all times, we ask citizens to report any suspicious criminal activity, and to be aware of their surroundings (by) taking the same precautions they do every day to keep themselves safe,” she added.

In addition to speaking to “a number of people both in and around the area where Mr. Daly was found,” Giaquinto said police are asking anyone who may have any information on the incident to contact Nashua police at 594-3500 and ask to speak with the Criminal Investigation Division.

Police are especially interested in speaking with anyone who may have interacted with Daly over the course of Sunday and Monday, Aug. 8-9, she added.
