NASHUA – Detectives investigating the Saturday evening burglary in which several items, including a firearm, were reportedly stolen have arrested the suspect in the incident.

Taken into custody Sunday was Peter Rich, 21, a Nashua resident with no fixed address, according to police.

Rich is charged with one count each of burglary, a Class B felony, and theft of a firearm, a Class A felony, police said.

He allegedly “stole several items” and the firearm from an apartment in the Ternbury Square complex off of Spit Brook Road.

According to police reports, the resident whose apartment was allegedly burglarized was out of town, but was able to access video images captured by his “Ring” doorbell.

The resident shared the images with police, and they reportedly showed a white male entering the apartment, then later emerging carrying a trash bag that appeared to be full, the reports state.

Police, with the resident’s help, were able to identify Rich as the suspect depicted in the videos. The bag he was carrying was later found to contain an AR-15 rifle, ammunition and jewelry, according to police reports.

Detectives subsequently took Rich into custody.

He was booked on the charges then ordered held on preventive detention pending Monday’s scheduled arraignment in Hillsborough County Superior Court South.

Court documents indicate Rich was released on personal recognizance bail following arraignment. His next court date wasn’t listed in the documents.

Police ask anyone with any information on the incident to contact the department’s Crime Line at 589-1665.
