NASHUA – Shortly after a Nashua man was arrested Monday on a misdemeanor count of criminal mischief, detectives investigating the incident added a charge that accuses him of possessing a deadly weapon as a convicted felon, police said.

Ryan Baldwin, 30, whose last known address is 56 Edgewood Ave. in Nashua, now faces one count each of convicted felons, a felony that accuses him of possessing a knife, and criminal mischief, a Class A misdemeanor, for allegedly damaging someone else’s property.

Baldwin was booked on the charges, after which bail was initially set at $1,000 cash. But at a bail hearing Tuesday in Hillsborough County Superior Court South, his case file shows the amount was modified to $100 cash.

Officers arrested Baldwin around 9:20 p.m., police said, about a half-hour after receiving a call from someone at an unspecified Nashua address regarding criminal threatening with a knife.

While the investigation showed that nobody was threatened or injured, officers charged Baldwin for allegedly damaging the property, then added the felony charge.

Baldwin’s history with the criminal justice system goes back to 2009, when he was charged with one count each of felony criminal threatening and misdemeanor simple assault.

Case summaries on file at the court show he entered guilty pleas and was given a suspended jail sentence.

In 2012, Baldwin was charged with a series of offenses, including felon in possession of a dangerous weapon, reckless conduct, robbery, drug possession, and carrying a firearm without a license.

He entered guilty pleas to the charges and was sentenced to minimum two-year State Prison term, which was shortened by 209 days that were credited to him for time already served.

Then in 2016, Baldwin was charged with a number of offenses, including one count of second-degree assault, a felony, and misdemeanors including four counts of criminal mischief, and one count each of violating probation, obstructing the report of a crime and criminal trespass.

According to the case summary, Baldwin entered guilty pleas to some of the charges, while others were dismissed.
