NASHUA – Matthew Fossum, senior counsel for Eversource Energy, and Sean Howell, head of relationship management for Fidelity Investments, have become the newest members of St. Joseph Hospital’s board of directors, according to a hospital spokesman.

“We are thrilled to welcome our new board directors,” hospital president John A. Jurczyk said of the appointments.

“Both of them provide our board with a unique background and perspective and we look forward to their expertise and guidance this year,” Jurczyk added.

Fossum and Howell “will provide a governance perspective from non-healthcare industries to St. Joseph Hospital,” marketing director Tim McMahon said in a statement.

Board of directors chairperson Louise Trottier said Fossum and Howell are joining a board that is “comprised of a dedicated team of community leaders committed to providing the best possible experience for our patients.”

Trottier added that hospital leadership is “confident that the addition” of Fossum and Howell “will bring the skills, experiences, and perspectives necessary to continue executing on the strategy and mission of St. Joseph Hospital.”

* About Matthew Fossum

Fossum currently serves as senior regulatory counsel for Eversource Energy, where he is responsible for legal matters – primarily regulatory and compliance matters in New Hampshire and those involving regional and federal bodies – for New Hampshire’s, and the region’s, largest public utility company.

“Prior to his role at Eversource, Fossum worked as a staff attorney for the New Hampshire Public Utilities Commission and as a law clerk in both the New Hampshire Supreme and Superior Courts.

“He is a graduate of both Leadership Greater Concord and Leadership New Hampshire, and currently serves as president of the Neighbor Helping Neighbor Fund, which helps utility customers who experience some sort of emergency or financial hardship.”

* About Sean Howell

“Howell currently serves as Head of Relationship Management for Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO), a division of Fidelity Investments.

“In this role, which he assumed in 2018, Howell is responsible for relationship management between FFIO and its Fidelity business partners as well as the custodian banks that are servicing assets across Fidelity products.

“He provides client experience program oversight across all major FFIO product and service lines and thought leadership for FFIO capabilities.

“Howell first joined Fidelity in 1999, and prior to his current position held several increasingly senior roles within Fidelity’s Asset Management (AM) Investment Operations (IO) organization. Most recently, he served as head of IO Relationship Management. In this role, he built out a new relationship management function for investment operations to service all AM business units as well as the Fidelity channels.
