YMCA of Greater Nashua raises more than $37k during Y Day of Giving
NASHUA – The YMCA of Greater Nashua recently announced that more than $37,000 was raised during its inaugural Y Day of Giving.
All proceeds benefit the Y CARES Financial Assistance Program, which helps ensure individuals and families can access YMCA memberships, childcare, summer camp, swim lessons, youth sports, wellness programs and more regardless of financial circumstances.
The total included more than $700 raised through a spirited Penny Wars competition at the Merrimack Early Education Center as well as a generous $10,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor.
The day included the Walk for Y CARES, a two-and-a-half-mile community walk through Mine Falls Park, organized by the YMCA Trail Walking Group.
“Y Day of Giving is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community comes together around a shared purpose,” said Chief Operating Officer Joseph Manzoli. “Every dollar raised helps remove barriers for children, families and individuals who rely on the Y not just for programs, but for connection, support and belonging. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who donated, volunteered, walked, shared our mission, and helped make this day such a success.”
Through the Y CARES Financial Assistance Program, the YMCA of Greater Nashua provides critical support to individuals and families facing financial hardship, helping ensure everyone has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive at the Y.
The YMCA also recognized the many volunteers, board members, staff members and community advocates who dedicated their time and energy to organizing events, welcoming participants and encouraging support throughout the campaign.
The organization extended special thanks to its Y Day of Giving partners, including the PLUS Company, St. Christopher Academy, MASI Plumbing and Heating, the Nashua Silver Knights and LME Financial Planning.
