Residents can register vehicles with new system
NASHUA – Drivers can still register their vehicles despite Nashua City Hall being closed.
There is a modified system in place allowing people to register their vehicles remotely according to Mayor Jim Donchess at this week’s press conference.
“The vast majority of other city employees are working remotely or going into city hall under limited circumstances, but one area where we need to serve the public is in the area of motor vehicle registration,” Donchess said. “So, we have modified the system so that you can register your car, new car or a renewal, or a transfer of some kind remotely.”
Donchess said citizens can contact the vehicle registration office for more information. If it is a renewal it can be done by mail.
Donchess said The Nashua Police Department realizes that the suspension of services at City Hall has meant that “some people might be late in registering their cars, but if you have an unregistered vehicle you should contact motor vehicle as soon as you possibly can.”
People can email the department at mvr2@nashuanh.gov. People can also mail their registration paperwork to: P.O. Box 2019, Nashua, NH 03061.
There is a drop-box located at the Elm Street entrance of city hall that people can use to drop off their renewal paperwork.
More information is available on the city website at, https://nashuanh.gov/404/Motor-Vehicle-Registration.
