NASHUA – A unidentified man suffered fatal injuries sometime Saturday afternoon or evening in the garage of a Nashua residence, officials said.

Nashua police Sgt. Christopher Ditullio said it appears a vehicle fell onto the man, causing the fatal injuries.

Police, firefighters and medical personnel were called to the residence, 4 Edson St., Saturday night for a report of a man in his 50s trapped under a car, Ditullio said.

He said crews, upon arrival, had to force entry into the two-car garage, which is attached to the 2 1/2-story residence.

They located the man, who they determined was deceased, and requested a medical examiner respond to the scene.

Ditullio said that while police don’t consider the death suspicious, the matter remains under investigation. Whether the man was working on the car or he became trapped for some other reason is part of the investigation.

On Sunday morning, an older model pickup truck sat in the driveway. There didn’t appear to be anyone at the residence, which is at the south end of Edson Street near the intersection of East Stark Street.
