CONCORD – Gov. Chris Sununu issued this statement after being awarded the Housing Action New Hampshire Home Matters in New Hampshire Award:

“I am honored to receive Housing Action New Hampshire’s Home Matters in New Hampshire Award. The work being done by the bipartisan housing task force that I assembled this year is key to addressing the housing crisis we’re facing in New Hampshire. These efforts are the first of many as we work to provide more Granite Staters with a place to call home at an affordable price. I look forward to working with the legislature and all interested stakeholders as we continue to develop a plan that will be a win for our workforce, our communities, and our entire state.”

“The Governing Council of Housing Action New Hampshire is pleased to recognize the governor for his leadership on the affordable housing issue and we look forward to working with him on his housing initiative that focuses on giving the tools to local communities so they can address their housing needs,” Housing Action New Hampshire Director Elissa Margolin said.

The organization’s award is presented to community leaders who have worked to ensure that all Granite Staters have a safe, affordable place to call home. Sununu was recognized for working to establish a bipartisan task force that will work to develop recommendations to address New Hampshire’s housing crisis, along with his efforts to pass a budget that prioritizes funding for affordable housing and homelessness services.
