Husband and wife wreck havoc at local bar

By Adam Urquhart - Staff Writer | Mar 26, 2019

HUDSON — A domestic dispute at a local bar resulted in the arrest of a local man Thursday night.

David Gagne, of Hudson, now faces a number of charges, including two counts of simple assault, two counts of domestic violence assault, resisting arrest and assault on a police officer.

“It was a domestic situation between husband and wife, who were heavily intoxicated,” Sgt. Roger Lamarche said.

The situation that transpired at The Bar, located at 2B Burnham Road in Hudson, resulted in two ambulances arriving to treat both people involved. He said both were taken to Southern New Hampshire Medical Center. However, that was not the end of things for Gagne, who sobered up to a slew of charges after his arrest.

Officers received the call at 9:11 p.m., and Lamarche said when officers arrived on scene, Gagne’s wife was incapacitated because of intoxication, not because of any injuries.

“So, based on witness statements, the gentleman was being restrained because he became aggressive,” Lamarche said.

Owner of The Bar, Judy Laferriere-Mank, is going on three years of ownership now, and runs a tight ship. She said she does not allow this kind of behavior at all. She said the couple came in Thursday night, sometime between 7:30-7:45 p.m., and each had one or two drinks.

Laferriere-Mank said she and four bartenders working that night did not recognize the couple, and said they had never been in the bar.

“If you saw the video, you’d be floored,” Laferriere-Mank said.
