NASHUA – Serge Michaud, the Hudson man who allegedly retrieved a handgun during a domestic altercation and warned several family members “I’m going to kill everyone,” was released from jail Tuesday with orders to immediately undergo assessment by a crisis intervention team.

Superior Court Judge Jacalyn Colburn granted Michaud, 57, of 2 Tate St., personal recognizance bail, with several conditions including he report to Harbor Homes’ Mobile Crisis Response Team for a mental health assessment within six hours of leaving jail.

He is also ordered to live at a Merrimack address, and to have no contact with several family members and a neighbor, according to the order.

He must also sign a waiver of extradition, possess no firearms and consume no alcohol or illegal drugs, and return to court at 9 a.m. March 14 for a bail review hearing.

Colburn also scheduled a dispositional conference for May 15.

Hudson police in their reports described a tense scene when they arrived at 2 Tate St. around 3:30 Sunday afternoon. Called to the home for a report of “an unstable” man with a gun, officers found several “family members crying and in distress,” and heard screaming coming from the second floor of the house, the reports state.

Officers located the allegedly unstable suspect, later identified as Michaud, who police said took the handgun, a Ruger .380, from his pocket and gave it to the officers.

While detaining Michaud, the officers learned he allegedly fired one round into a wall during the altercation. The round went through the wall, police said, then penetrated the front of a home across the street.

During the commotion, Michaud allegedly made the comment about killing everyone, then went out onto his rear deck and allegedly fired three rounds “toward the ground,” police said.

Michaud was subsequently taken into custody. The charges he faces include four counts of reckless conduct-deadly weapon, and three counts of criminal threatening-domestic violence, all felonies.
