Holiday trash schedule for Nashua
NASHUA – The Solid Waste Department will follow the normal schedule for the Monday routes during Christmas week. However, the Four Hills Landfill/Nashua Recycling Center will be closed Dec. 25, as there will be no curbside collection that day. Normal operations will resume on Dec. 26, and all collections will be one day late during the rest of the week. Tuesday neighborhoods will be collected on Wednesday, while the Wednesday areas will be picked up on Thursday, Dec. 27. Thursday routes will be collected on Friday, Dec. 28 and the Friday areas will be collected on Saturday, Dec. 29.
The same schedule will be implemented during the week of New Year’s Day.
All containers must be at curbside by 6:45 a.m. on collection day. There must be at least three feet between the trash cart and anything else. Excess holiday trash in bags will be picked up during the week after Christmas; bags must be placed at least three feet from the trash cart and cannot include bulky items or household garbage. The extra trash gathering will run from Dec. 26 through Dec. 31.
Gift boxes and corrugated cardboard boxes may be flattened and recycled. Residents may call the Solid Waste Department office at 603-589-3410 with any questions about the holiday schedule.
