Wild Wednesday edition has deals, deals, deals

By Matthew Burdette - Editor in Chief | Nov 22, 2018

NASHUA – Saint Nicholas has made his list, checked it twice and has discovered Greater Nashua residents have been nice – so nice that he will be touching down on Main Street early today with a sleigh full of Telegraphs stuffed with almost a half-million dollars of savings.

The newspaper’s annual Black Friday Shopping Guide – priced at $2 – is overflowing with more than 30 sales fliers, with bargains that would even make Ebenezer Scrooge crack open his dusty old wallet.

Sales of the holiday edition will begin at 10 a.m. today at The Telegraph office, 110 Main St., Suite 1 in downtown Nashua. Sales will continue at that location until 6 p.m., and throughout the next two days, as supplies last.

“This is our biggest edition of the year,” said Telegraph Publisher and General Manager Heather Goodwin Henline. “There are so many great deals being offered this year from retailers, both large and small.”

“As a special added value for our readers, today’s edition includes a 12-page Holiday Gift Guide,” Goodwin Henline added.

“There also is additional editorial content and many more advertisers included inside the pages of the 24-page holiday edition.”

A variety of festive happenings are planned at The Telegraph throughout the day today, with many of Santa’s elves pitching in to assist the jolly old fat man.

Curbside service is available for customers, with a station set up at The Telegraph’s main entrance and a lane on Main Street reserved for quick pull-up service.

For those who wish to come into the newspaper office, counter service will be available, and patrons will have the opportunity to take selfies at several large artistic newspaper page cutouts.

Free coffee and cookies will be available throughout the day to both counter and curbside customers.

In addition, a buy one, get one free gift subscription special will be available, and those purchasing five or more copies of the holiday edition will receive a free Telegraph ceramic coffee mug.

“This is such a festive, amazing time of year, and we certainly are in the holiday spirit here at The Telegraph,” Goodwin Henline said. “We look forward to this day the entire year, and can’t wait to help our customers celebrate.”

“With a half-million dollars in potential savings, this newspaper will serve as the proverbial roadmap for our readers to find the best and most sought-after bargains,” she added.

This year’s holiday sales fliers include: AC Moore, Bed Bath & Beyond, Bernie & Phyl’s, Best Buy, Big Lots, the Christmas Tree Shop, CVS, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Dollar General, Five Below, Home Depot, JC Penney, Jo Ann Stores, Kohl’s, Lowe’s, Macy’s, Michael’s, Modell’s, Nikon/Hunt’s Photo, Ocean State Job Lot, Olympia Sports, PETCO, Rite Aid, Sears, Select Comfort, Staples, Target, Tractor Supply, Ulta, U.S. Cellular and Walgreens.

“We really have to thank our many advertisers – both inside the pages of The Telegraph and those offering sales fliers – for making this day possible,” said Telegraph Advertising Director Autumn Williams. “Without them, today would not be possible. They truly have our thanks, not just during this time of year, but all year around.”

“As Black Friday has gained in popularity and with many families heading out to the stores tonight, The Telegraph serves as a guide for local residents to be more like Santa Claus, making their list and checking it twice.”

Those purchasing a Thanksgiving edition of The Telegraph will have the opportunity to win a free three-day vacation and $500 in cash. An entry form for the contest is on Page A5 of today’s edition.

Original forms only will be accepted – no photocopies. Patrons may enter as many times as they would like. Completed forms may be dropped off or mailed to The Telegraph, 110 Main St., Suite 1 in downtown Nashua. The deadline for entries is Nov. 30, with the drawing set for Dec. 14.

The vacation package, valued at more than $1,000, is valid for up to two adults and three children, for five total. The odds of winning are one versus the number of entries submitted, based upon a press run of 20,000.

The winner may choose from more than 100 travel destinations, offered by Dynamic Rewards, who has a relationship with Hilton and their many brands.

Anyone wishing to check out the possible destinations and accommodations available to the grand-prize winner may visit www.dynamicrewards.com.

“This three-day vacation package includes many popular destinations and other fun and exciting getaways,” Goodwin Henline said. “The winner will be announced on Dec. 14, making this a wonderful Christmas surprise.”

Sales of the holiday edition will continue through the weekend, including at The Telegraph on Friday during Plaid Friday festivities, where cookies and coffee will again be available. In addition, The Telegraph will take part in the Winter Holiday Stroll on Saturday, with additional subscription specials available at that time.
