MERRIMACK – A Manchester man is going to jail after he pleaded guilty to his role in a jewelry store robbery at the Merrimack Premium Outlets mall.

Frederick Cote, 27, pleaded guilty on Friday in the Hillsborough County Superior Court in Nashua to one count of theft by unauthorized taking for his part in stealing a $14,000 pair of earrings from the Kay Jewelers store in the mall.

Cote will head to prison for two to five years, and must repay $12,999 to Kay Jewelers. He’s already doing prison time in Massachusetts for his part in an armed robbery of a jewelry store at the Burlington Mall.

Police say Cote entered the Merrimack store on Nov. 13, 2015, shortly before closing, and asked to see a pair of earrings. Once the jewelry was brought out, Cote reportedly grabbed the earrings and ran out of the store.

He was arrested a few weeks later in Massachusetts after he reportedly stole a $34,000 Rolex from Long’s Jewelers store. Cote reportedly used a BB-gun that looked like a real pistol in this robbery.

Police were called to the Burlington store for a report of a suspicious person just moments before the robbery happened. Officers report seeing Cote running out of the store and getting into a car with Brian Hurton, 26, of Manchester, and Michael Taliadoros, 22, of Derry.

Police were able to follow their car and stop it a short time later, arresting all three men. Cote was reportedly matched the description of a suspect in a string of jewelry store robberies in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, including the Merrimack robbery.
