Sugarhouses in and around Greater Nashua open for Maple Weekend

This is the weekend to learn about maple sugaring, and buy some goodies in the process, as the New Hampshire Maple Producers Association hosts the 19th annual Maple Weekend on Saturday and Sunday.

The season has gotten off to a slow start because it takes cold nights and warm days to make sap flow, and until recently, the days have been too cold.

But sap is flowing fast now, and sugarhouses will be boiling down sap nonstop this weekend.

Many locations will have events, including demonstrations of how to tap a maple tree.
