Two men charged in Nov. liquor store robbery in Nashua that netted $14k
NASHUA – Two men from the Manchester area were arrested Tuesday for their alleged roles in an armed robbery at the Nashua State Liquor & Wine Outlet in November, during which they stole about $14,000, authorities said.
Justin Lever, 28, of Goffstown, and Justin Boucher, 31, of Manchester, face felony charges as the result of a lengthy investigation by the New Hampshire Liquor Commission and the Nashua Police Department.
Lever was charged with robbery and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon by the state Liquor Commission. During his arrest, Goffstown police said they found Lever in possession of cocaine, as well.
Boucher was arrested by the state Liquor Commission and charged with criminal liability for the conduct of another to robbery.
At closing time on Nov. 12, Lever ran into the Nashua Liquor & Wine Outlet on Coliseum Avenue brandishing a handgun. He demanded money from the clerk, who complied, and Lever ran out to the getaway car, which Boucher was driving, according to State Liquor Commission Director of Enforcement Eddie Edwards.
Lever and Boucher made off with about $14,000, Edwards said. No one was hurt in the robbery, but Edwards said the clerk may have been emotionally hurt.
“It’s pretty threatening and intimidating to have a weapon pulled on you in the middle of the night like that,” he said. “These types of things can take an emotional toll on people.”
Edwards said within a matter of weeks, police had “pretty good leads on the case,” but it took months to secure arrest warrants.
The combination of security cameras and tips from the public helped to identify Lever and Boucher, Edwards said.
Lever and Boucher were arraigned Wednesday. Bail was set at $250,000 cash for Lever, and $100,000 cash or surety for Boucher.
Both await a probable cause hearing at Nashua District Court on March 9 at 8:15 a.m.
Lever is also scheduled for another arraignment at Goffstown district court for the possession charges relating to drugs and the firearm.
