NASHUA – The former Michael Timothy’s Urban Bistro will host an open house this afternoon to celebrate its reopening as MT’s Local Kitchen & Wine Bar.

The open house takes place at 212 Main St. in downtown Nashua from 3-6 p.m. Free hors d’oeuvres will be served.

Michael Timothy’s announced plans in November to morph its popular flagship restaurant into a more casual establishment. The restaurant closed in early January for renovations.

The new menu features a wider selection of appetizers and small plates, with a strong emphasis on comfort food, slow-cooked food and locally sourced ingredients. Specials utilizing local farms and artisan products will be displayed nightly on a chalkboard, showcasing where and by whom the food was grown or raised.

MT’s Local will offer a broader selection of sustainably harvested wine and East Coast wines.

Grilled pizza and a few signature salads remain on the menu, as do Bistro Tournedos of Beef and Pan-Roasted Duck with Foie Gras Risotto.

MT’s Local will be open for dinner seven nights a week and will open for lunch at 11 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday. It will no longer serve Sunday brunch.
