Kahn pleads guilty to voting in more than one state

By Staff | May 16, 2021

CONCORD – Attorney General John M. Formella announced recently that Laurence Kahn, 58, of Londonderry, and Toivola, Michigan, pled guilty to voting in more than one state prohibited – a Class B delony – in Rockingham County Superior Court last week.

Kahn knowingly checked in at the checklist in Londonderry and cast a New Hampshire ballot, after having already cast a ballot in the same election year in Michigan during the 2016 General Election.

Kahn was sentenced to 90 days at the House of Corrections, all suspended for one year on the condition of his good behavior. The Court also ordered Mr. Kahn pay a $4,000 fine with a penalty assessment of $960.

As consequence of Kahn’s election law conviction and pursuant to Part I, Article 11 of the New Hampshire Constitution, his right to vote in New Hampshire is terminated.

This case was prosecuted by Assistant Attorney General Nicholas Chong Yen of the Election Law Unit.
