Levesque endorsed by The Collective PAC
BROOKLINE – New Hampshire State Sen. Melanie Levesque has been endorsed by the prominent DC advocacy organization, The Collective PAC. The Collective PAC works to fix the challenge of under-representation in elected seats of power throughout the nation. Launched in August of 2016, The Collective PAC has helped 55 candidates win general elections at the local, state and federal level thus far.
“We’re proud to endorse Senator Melanie Levesque in her re-election campaign to represent District 12. We know this is going to be a tight race, and as the first person of color ever elected to the New Hampshire State Senate, it’s critical that she continue her work to fight for voting rights, criminal justice reform, and equity in our education system,” said Chris Scott, Director of Campaigns at the Collective PAC. “Representation matters. Melanie has been an unwavering champion for the constituents in District 12 and I know she’ll continue to fight for the issues that matter most to working families in New Hampshire.”
Levesque became the first person of color elected to the New Hampshire state senate in 2018, where she’s continued her work on election reform, access to quality education and affordable healthcare.
Levesque, a Nashua native, has focused much of her career on education and election reform. She served in the N.H. House from 2006 to 2010 and from 2012 to 2014 where she sat on the House Election Law and Science, Technology and Energy committees. Rep. Levesque sponsored and passed a bill that created the NH Statewide Emergency Notification system.
Levesque is also endorsed by Emily’s List, Ignite Change, Future Now, Planned Parenthood of New Hampshire, Professional Firefighters of New Hampshire, the New Hampshire chapter of the National Education Association, the SEA chapter of the SEIU, the AFL-CIO and AFT-NH.
