Kuster, Energy and Commerce colleagues question Department of Energy secretary to provide oversight amid COVID-19
HOPKINTON – U.S. Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) participated in a virtual Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy hearing to provide oversight to the Department of Energy amid the COVID-19 pandemic. During the hearing titled, “Oversight of DOE During the COVID-19 Pandemic,” Kuster and her committee colleagues heard from Department of Energy Secretary Dan Brouillette.
“During a global pandemic, it’s important for Americans to see that their government is doing everything in its power to help keep them safe,” said Kuster. “We must ensure that the Department of Energy is leveraging the full range of its resources in the fight against COVID-19. From the role of renewable energy in our economic recovery, to making use of DOE’s massive computing power to advance treatment – my colleagues and I will continue to provide oversight to ensure that the Department of Energy is rising to the challenge this pandemic presents.”
In January, Kuster unveiled her Clean Energy Agenda, which consists of legislation she has led and that she is supporting to address climate change and transition to a clean energy economy. A member of the Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy, Kuster is a strong advocate for the green economy and has worked closely with clean energy leaders across New Hampshire.
