LEBANON – Dartmouth Health’s Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center (DHMC) is now the only hospital in New England, and only the third nationally, to earn dual accreditation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s (ANCC) Practice Transition Accreditation Program. The accreditation applies to DHMC’s Post-graduate Fellowship Programs in Neurology and Palliative for nurse practitioners and physician assistants. DHMC joins Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in earning the highest level of accreditation from ANCC.
“For neurology, we are the first institution in the United States to be granted this accreditation from ANCC, and are feeling very proud to be leading the way,” said Jillian C. Belmont, DNP, MSN, APRN, AGACNP, director of the DHMC and Clinics Post-graduate Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship Program. “Earning Accreditation with Distinction means we demonstrate exemplary and innovative practice in the domains of program leadership, program goals and outcome measures, organizational enculturation, development and design, practice-based learning, and our focus on wellness and joy in work for our fellows and faculty.”
DHMC was awarded Accreditation with Distinction, the highest recognition awarded by ANCC. In the award letter, ANCC noted that DHMC’s fellowship programs showed strength in their well-being initiatives, collaboration with the American Academy of Neurology and hospice and palliative fellowship collaborative retreats.
DHMC’s dual accreditations through ANCC are active through July 2027. To learn more about ANCC, visit nursingworld.org.
